UT Government is looking to add a Physical Security System Administrator to their team. The System Administrator is supporting a large Federal Physical Security Access Control and Video systems. This position requires a five day a week onsite resource located in the Washington DC metro area and obtain a government clearance. Qualified candidates must have the ability to communicate to clients at both technical and non‑technical levels. This candidate will also be able to exhibit a sense of urgency in providing exceptional quality service to the client and setting and managing expectations. As a System Administrator, the successful candidate will be hard working, detail‑oriented, highly organized and able to work independently. Provide technical support for system platform with associated components and environments, including installing/rebuilding servers and workstations; configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with standards and projection/operational requirements. Provide hands‑on support with Windows enterprise server administration (2022/2025), as well as Windows 11, including patching/updates of systems and system builds. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Investigate, troubleshoot, and fix hardware and software availability and performance issues. Support operation of software applications and databases. Administer user account properties, single sign‑on, and network security configurations. Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures. Requirements 5 plus years of experience providing technical support to software application. Proven experience with Windows Administration, including but not limited to working knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems, Windows Domain Controllers and domain administration, WSUS administration and operation, Windows Hyper‑V operation, Active Directory administration, Group Policy administration, DNS administration. Basic LAN concepts, strong understanding of TCP/IP and other network protocols, network configuration and management. Demonstrated proficiency in new technologies, strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills, particularly in technical areas, and effective written and oral communication skills. Aptitude for and willingness to learn new technologies; self‑paced, self‑directed study required. Experience with Physical Security Systems (Gallagher, Genetec, Lenel, Software House, etc.) and configuring/managing Gallagher Access Control system software and Milestone Systems.
