Job Summary Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients’ care, and by providing a positive, supportive environment. The Registered Nurse is the frontline representative of the patient care team, often serving as the intermediary between the patient and family, the provider(s), and other care team members. This role is expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives; maintain professional competence; develop others; uphold confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; and support Shared Governance through service on councils or sponsored activities. Work shift: Night (Full Time 36 hours per week). Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Patient Care and Care Coordination : Monitor, examine, and evaluate patient conditions; assist with the care plan and take appropriate actions to promote patient short/long‑term outcomes and wellbeing; deliver care plans; collaborate and communicate with other staff; prioritize and coordinate optimum daily patient flow and experience; deliver safe and effective care according to policies and procedures; maintain documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and incidents or exceptions. Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction : Listen to concerns, probe in‑depth to understand needs; serve as an educational resource; communicate necessary patient information to family, licensed care providers, and other staff; embrace patient‑ and family‑centered care; prioritize actions according to patient needs and provide input into the plan of care while maintaining confidentiality. Performance Improvement : Seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes; contribute ideas to identify solutions and support change implementation; support improvement initiatives aligned with better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance. Professional Competency and Growth : Maintain professional licenses and certifications; complete required training; self‑identify and manage training and development opportunities; participate in professional organizations; keep current with research literature and industry best practices; seek opportunities for professional growth and leadership development. Professional Leadership : Foster the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and preceptorship; contribute to a positive and supportive work environment; adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; act with professionalism, embrace shared governance principles, and demonstrate integrity; hold self and others accountable for practice through peer feedback; promote the nursing profession and assist with recruitment of nurses to AU Health. Required Minimum Education Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelor's Nursing – Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor or BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN – Multi‑state Compact Additional License(s) and Certification(s) None listed.
