POSITION OVERVIEW Position: Senior Red Team Operator Job Type: Full Time Location: Sterling, VA - Hybrid Clearance Requirement: TS WHAT YOU’LL DO SIXGEN is actively seeking candidates with experience as Senior Red Team Operator. In this role, you will have direct impact and interaction with our customers all stemming from being hands‑on‑keyboard. You will use and apply your knowledge of cyber operations across the spectrum of engagements alongside a talented team of engineers all focused on making an impact on the mission. The work ranges from offensive‑oriented tasks like cyber operations all the way to defensive‑oriented engagements like red teaming. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and drive requirements towards the development of tools to augment our current capabilities. An ideal candidate will possess customer‑specific certifications. Responsibilities include: Conducting full‑spectrum cyber operations and red‑team engagements. Providing expert knowledge of common penetration testing and forensics tools. Contribute across projects and disciplines; we are a small company and expect that you will grow into adjacent technical areas as you further your career. Interfacing with customers present findings and provide feedback. Working alongside teammates to derive requirements and craft the best solution for a given problem. Analyzing code, documentation, and network environments. Technology proficiency includes: Strong knowledge of network architecture and protocols Experience with common penetration testing tools (e.g., nmap) Experience with common networking operations techniques (e.g., tunneling) Proficiency scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Powershell, Batch) Docker, Podman, LXC, or other containerization solutions Advanced Linux usage (e.g., setuid, LD_PRELOAD, initramfs, PAM modules) Windows‑specific knowledge (e.g., Active Directory and Group Policy) Knowledge of digital forensics including artifacts, TTPs, signatures High‑level understanding and awareness of encryption algorithms COMPENSATION & BENEFITS SIXGEN offers a competitive executive compensation package, designed to reflect the outsized impact and enterprise value creation expected of this role.
