Job Title: Extrusion Line Operator

Pay: $19.50

Position Type : Temp to Hire

Location: Elgin, IL 

Shift: 3rd shift: 10:30pm - 7:00am (will train a couple weeks on 1st shift )

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Extrusion Line Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the extrusion machines in accordance with established procedures, safety guidelines, quality and customer requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of Management, the Extrusion Line Operator will be responsible for the following major responsibilities:

• Quality Control
• Ensure accuracy for all orders
• Ensure all items meet or exceed product specifications
• Follow all quality standards
• Collaborate with staff to minimize errors and optimize quality
• Ensure all orders are packaged / palatalized according to company standards
• Safety
• Ensure a safe working environment
• Follow all company safety standards
• Production
• Extrusion operators perform necessary changeovers, process checks, and quality checks to produce all product in accordance with the production schedule
• Accurately log all needed process parameters during production run including hourly readings of weight and size of board which will comply with ICC requirements.
•   Communicate via verbal and written technical information such as pressures, temperatures, dimensions, materials and other specifications.

• Take color sample readings every hour and make any needed adjustment to stay within specifications
• Log used raw material into the raw materials log
• Maintain a basic set of tools to include a tape measure and caliper
• Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned including basic maintenance tasks
• Alternate work hours to be able to work with all of the shifts to share knowledge and train other line operators on what adjustments to make to ensure the highest quality product.
• Maintaining professional boundaries and behavior, including a positive, collaborative, solution focused, and team-oriented attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ability to read and write in English
• The ability to lift 75 lbs. (anything over 50lbs with assistance) and walk the equivalent of 3⁄4 mile per shift
• The ability to read a tape measure and a caliper
• Computer data entry required
• The ability to follow and comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in the company manual
• Must have the ability to prioritize multiple projects/workflow and manage time efficiently in order to meet established timelines.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction from manager and/or supervisor.
• Independently identify and recommend solutions/process improvements.
• Manage time independently within assigned responsibilities.
