Accounts Payable Specialist

Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. Position Summary: Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day to day AP operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Process and code vendor invoices accurately and timely
  • Review invoices for proper approvals and supporting documentation
  • Perform three way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
  • Process ACH, wire, and check payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
  • Assist with month end close activities and account reconciliations
  • Maintain AP records and supporting documentation for audit purposes
  • Support 1099 reporting and other compliance requirements
  • High School diploma required; Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of Accounts Payable experience
  • Strong Excel experience - Vlookups, Pivot Tables and Formulas
  • Be able to function independently in a small team and be able to prioritize to complete the work each day
