Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) is looking for kind, reliable, and mission-driven individuals to join our team as Part Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) . In this hourly, wage-based role, you’ll provide essential care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities , including those who exhibit maladaptive behaviors. About the Role Assist individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and communication. Provide emotional and behavioral support to individuals with maladaptive behaviors. Implement behavior intervention plans as developed by the interdisciplinary team. Promote independence and self-determination in a safe and structured environment. Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. Maintain accurate documentation and follow established safety procedures. These positions are considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested. This position is hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year. Position numbers W0014, W0097, W0314 and W0059 will be filled from this posting. Training Requirement Person-Centered Practices CPR/First Aid Certification TOVA (Therapeutic Options of Virginia) Medication Administration Nutritional Management Physical/Behavioral Management Skills and experience required "We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives." Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have active, valid driver’s license. Bonus points if you have Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.
