Senior Automotive Mechanic

Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan .


Overview


The Senior Automotive Mechanic will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. They will mentor team members and oversee technical deliverables to ensure standards are met.


Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and serve as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers.
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others.
• Has own tools with rolling toolbox.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures.
