Veterinary Assistant / Customer Service Representative

Job Description
The Veterinary Assistant / Customer Service Representative will support our Family Owned Animal Hospital by providing animal care and managing customer interactions. This role requires assisting the veterinary team, handling appointment scheduling and record management using practice management software, and offering exceptional phone support. The assistant will report to both the Lead Veterinary Technician and the Office Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent client service, including some Saturday shifts from 10 AM to 5 PM. Must have open availability.
Responsibilities
Provide basic animal care and assist veterinary staff during treatments
Engage with customers professionally and courteously
Schedule appointments and manage client records using practice management software
Answer phones and provide accurate information and support
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas
Collaborate effectively with veterinary and office teams
Perform timely and accurate data entry tasks

Preferred Qualifications
Entry-level experience in veterinary assistance
High school diploma or equivalent
Skills in animal care and customer service
Strong communication and multitasking abilities
Experience with record keeping and appointment scheduling
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Coachability
