Reporting directly to the Partner in Charge of Tax, you will streamline operations, solve complex tax matters, and help mentor our rising talent.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Leadership & Review: Review and sign complex individual, business, and informational tax returns, ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Technical Research & Advisory: Identify and research intricate tax issues, develop clear resolutions, and author written technical conclusions.Departmental Operations: Oversee the tax department's project management systems to maximize operational efficiencies and workflow seamlessness.Team Mentorship: Supervise and mentor staff, overseeing personalized education and career growth plans.Partner Collaboration: Work alongside executive leadership on high-level initiatives and identify opportunities to introduce innovative client service lines.Client Engagement: Build strong client relationships, deliver an exceptional client experience, and foster overall practice growth.Qualifications & ExperienceCredentials & Education: Active CPA license and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.Experience: 10 to 15+ years of progressive public accounting experience, demonstrating strong tax review and project management capabilities.Software Stack: Experience with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, and SafeSend is preferred; strong Microsoft 365 skills required.Core Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication, high professional integrity, and the ability to manage confidential material discreetly.Collaborative Mindset: A team-first attitude with a passion for building client relationships and supporting team achievement.Worksite & ConditionsLocation: Based in Rochester, Buffalo, or Perry, NY with flexibility to work remotely on an as-needed basis.Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with standard seasonal hours during peak tax periods.Travel: Occasional client travel as needed (fully reimbursed at current IRS mileage rates).Compensation & BenefitsWork-Life Integration: Flexible schedules, hybrid remote options, and realistic seasonal expectationsFlexible schedules, hybrid remote options, and realistic seasonal expectations.Professional Growth: Firm-sponsored CPE, leadership development programs, and clear partnership opportunities.Comprehensive Rewards: Competitive compensation, performance incentives, 401(k) retirement plan with match, generous PTO, and full health/life benefits packages.
