Supervisor, MRI Imaging Services Ops

Job Summary Works under minimal supervision to perform a full range of technical expertise on modality‑specific imaging equipment, including imaging procedures, exam protocols, accreditation, operation, and facilitation of equipment maintenance. Requirements Education: Associate’s Degree in Radiology or related field Licenses and Certifications: BLS – Basic Life Support accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire ARRT – AMER REG of Rad Tech vocation specialty registered licensure, upon hire ARDMS – AMER REGIS DIAG Med Sono vocation specialty registered licensure, upon hire CNMT – CERT Nuclear Med Tech vocation specialty registered licensure, upon hire TMB Medical Radiologic Technologist, upon hire Preferred Bachelor’s Degree 5 years of experience in medical imaging preferred 3 years of experience in a leadership role preferred For Nuclear Medicine modality candidates: five (5) years of experience in nuclear, molecular, and computed tomography imaging strongly preferred Job Duties General Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates conscious effort to be good stewards of hospital resources, ensures financial goals are met, secures vendor quotes for operational and capital budgets, ensures proper billing and coding of modality‑specific exams, attends meetings, secures required regulatory licensure for equipment, participates in compliance duties and audits, and creates competency training for technologists. Leadership Responsibilities: Coordinates continuity of patient care across locations, provides escalation and assistance with scheduling exams, schedules staff and ensures payroll accuracy, offers technical input for evaluations and promotions, establishes competency standards, teaches at new‑hire orientation, and oversees education and training of technologists. Teaches/oversees student and resident rotations in modality as applicable. Implements clinical protocols and establishes backup mechanisms on equipment to ensure continuity at all sites. Acts as liaison between technologists and radiologists for technical inquiries and follows up on trends. Assists leadership with staff compliance for clinical and operational protocols, policies, and procedures. Provides timely access to equipment, supplies, and logistical support to the biomedical and physicists departments. Facilitates regular in‑service training and assists with implementation of new programs related to modality. Troubleshoots exam exceptions in PACS and Epic, and is available during scheduled downtime procedures. Works with imaging department process improvement projects. Quality Assurance: Demonstrates working knowledge of all imaging equipment, assists physicians and committees with building protocols, ensures compliance with radiation dose regulations, maintains accreditation, liaises with investigators and management, investigates and addresses radiation doses, oversees maintenance and repairs, monitors QC/QA compliance, reviews technologist studies, coordinates additional training, and provides input for outcomes and event reports.
