Sr. Staff Product Owner - Atlassian Tools Suite

This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Experience with Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) is a must! Define and manage the product roadmap, backlog, vendor relationships, feature adoption and implementation strategy for Atlassian tools. Serve as the primary liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment. Evaluate current systems architecture and recommend scalable, cost‑effective improvements. Lead modernization efforts for engineering tools, aligning with industry trends and best practices. Demonstrate ability to prioritize initiatives, foster collaboration between departments and drive initiatives to completion through accountability. Support M&A integration activities, including tool transition planning and execution. Develop and deliver training sessions, playbooks and knowledge assets to promote best practices and consistent usage of agile tooling across the organization. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on product development progress and technical challenges. Research and propose emerging technologies to enhance engineering workflows. Identify and resolve roadblocks and challenges. Establish standards and best practices for AI, analytics and automation workflows. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Oversee troubleshooting processes, serve as a point of contact for complex issues, and monitor SLAs. Serve as a technical lead on multiple large projects/systems, assign work and complete advanced tasks. Drive technical conversations to ensure the right path and project completion. Communicate within and outside the project team to resolve conflicts in implementation schedules, design challenges and other complexities. Make recommendations to IT and Business Unit Management on system or application upgrades, including cost analysis and capacity planning. Monitor and analyze overall availability and performance of computer operating systems and/or software applications, develop KPIs and compare results to set KPIs. Collaborate with business partners to identify system solutions or address complex technical information. Collaborate with Business Unit Management to understand business needs, and strategize and/or recommend IT solutions. Network with colleagues across the organization to gain insights, ideas and connections. Manage team project priorities, deadlines and deliverables for large or multiple projects, make decisions addressing significant issues. Work directly with Business Unit Management to ensure new systems operate according to user requirements. Document processes for upcoming updates (e.g., design, architecture). Present Business Unit IT needs and requirements to IT Management and staff. Gather and synthesize technical issues affecting customers or projects into appropriate documentation and provide recommendations to senior leadership. Collaborate with business partners and decide which test or prototype environments to evaluate, follow industry trends and present results to senior leadership. Rescope projects based on discussions with business partners, identify resources, delegate work, and review work of team members to address changing timelines or priorities. Qualifications 10+ years of IT experience with a strong background in enterprise‑scale system implementations. Proven expertise in administering Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) and engineering lifecycle management tools. Hands‑on experience deploying and managing Atlassian Enterprise applications – both on‑prem and Cloud. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes. Excellent problem‑solving and architectural design skills. Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Detail‑oriented mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes and business practices. Demonstrated leadership in cross‑functional, globally distributed teams. Preferred Skills Knowledge of risk assessment, integration and release processes in engineering environments. Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certifications such as “Jira Administrator for Cloud” and/or “Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin”. Intellectual curiosity, adaptability and a collaborative mindset. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of IT‑related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree. OR 9+ years of IT‑related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in an IT‑related field. 3+ years in a leadership role in projects/programs. Level of Responsibility Working independently with little supervision. Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with significant impact on overall program or project success. Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to multiple audiences. Having moderate influence over key organizational decisions. Using deductive and inductive problem‑solving and advanced data analysis skills. Exercising exceptional creativity to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/processes. Benefits and Pay Range Pay range: $141,600.00 – $212,400.00. The pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum pay for this job code in the location. Salary is one component of total compensation. Additional compensation includes a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants.
