Intake Paralegal – Personal Injury Law Firm

Location: Manhattan
Salary: Competitive, based on experience $75,000 to $85,000
Schedule: Full-Time

Our growing Personal Injury law firm is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Intake Paralegal to join our team. This role is critical to creating a positive first impression for prospective clients while ensuring all potential cases are properly evaluated and onboarded.

Responsibilities:

• Handle incoming calls from prospective clients and conduct detailed intake interviews
• Gather and document facts, injuries, insurance information, and accident details
• Evaluate potential cases based on firm criteria and attorney guidelines
• Request and review preliminary records and supporting documentation
• Open and maintain electronic case files
• Follow up with leads and prospective clients in a timely manner
• Coordinate attorney consultations and client appointments
• Draft retainer agreements and onboarding documents
• Maintain accurate notes and data within the firm’s case management system
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients during stressful situations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Personal Injury intake experience preferred
• bilingual Spanish preferred
• Strong phone presence and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport and show empathy with potential clients
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Experience with case management software
• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling Labor Law claims under Sections 200, 240(1), and 241(6), managing catastrophic injury matters, taking and defending depositions, negotiating substantial settlements, and preparing cases for trial. Attorneys with a proven track record of resolving high-value cases and obtaining exceptional results for injured clients are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
•\tHandle a caseload of complex plaintiff personal injury matters from inception through resolution
•\tLitigate construction accident and Labor Law cases involving NY Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6)
•\tConduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
•\tDraft and argue motions, including summary judgment motions
•\tAttend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
•\tEvaluate liability and damages in high-exposure cases
•\tNegotiate substantial settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel
•\tPrepare cases for trial and assist in trial presentation
•\tDevelop litigation strategy and maintain strong client relationships
