Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Irvine, California on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position will play an important role in keeping daily accounting operations on track, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable, month-end activities, and audit support. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing high-volume transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and working effectively in a fast-paced office environment.Responsibilities:• Manage accounts receivable activities by recording incoming payments, reconciling deposits, researching customer account questions, and monitoring outstanding balances.• Process large volumes of remittance information and accurately allocate payments across multiple invoices, orders, or customer accounts.• Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, completing account reconciliations, and maintaining detailed backup schedules.• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.• Partner with the team to respond to audit requests by gathering documentation, organizing support files, and assisting with follow-up items.• Help maintain continuity within the accounting department by providing dependable support during staffing shortages and prioritizing critical deadlines.• Contribute to improving and stabilizing accounts receivable workflows to strengthen consistency, accuracy, and timely follow-through.• Communicate progress regularly, work independently on assigned tasks, and raise thoughtful questions when clarification is needed.
