Laser Operator

Sheet metal fabrication and manufacturer in Gallatin is hiring Laser Operators

• Operates the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery uses in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
• Has an understanding of laser machine operation, differences between cutting various alloy, and gauge of material.
• Performs regular maintenance on the machine.
• Programs, downloads and edits console as required. Verifies the measurement of cut materials.
• Works with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
• Uses handheld power tools to grind, sand and cut materials.
• Follows all safety rules and quality standards.
• Follows all company rules and policies.
• Upholds all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be required, based upon business needs, at any time with or without notice.

• Six (6) months or more of related experience and or specialized training.
• Requires ability to program, download and edit console as required.
• Ability to verify the measurement of cut materials.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Must have good communication, organizational, and cross-training skills.
• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper and Brass.
• No facial hair that would prevent proper seal of respiratory protection
• Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodations.
• Stand on concrete floor for 10 hours (with breaks) and with anti-fatigue mats.
