Work Environment

The Elko facility operates as a collaborative, onsite hospital where the PTA will engage with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists. Our standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing ample time for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in conducting comprehensive orthopedic evaluations and functional assessments to determine patient needs.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the physical therapist, focusing on interventions backed by the latest evidence-based practice.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and advanced methods such as kinesiology taping and cupping to enhance patient recovery and ease discomfort.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches based on feedback and results, ensuring to deliver optimal care.
• Educate patients about proper movement strategies, self-management techniques, and long-term health improvement strategies to facilitate their individualized recovery journey.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, orthopedic specialists, and other caregivers to ensure a seamless continuum of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will be engaged in rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring mobility and function while preventing future injuries. Our patient demographic includes a diverse mix of ages and fitness levels, each with unique therapeutic needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or a higher-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's) in Physical Therapy or a closely related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for PTA licensure in the state of Nevada.
• A genuine interest in orthopedic therapy, pain management, and enhancing patient knowledge through education.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when dealing with patients.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate patient records and tracking progression using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in orthopedics or rehabilitation.
• Previous involvement in sports rehabilitation or post-operative recovery programs.
• Familiarity with treatment modalities such as dry needling and advanced manual therapy techniques.
• Interest in pursuing further certifications, such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
