General Department Description

Global Transaction Banking Division Americas provides transaction banking solutions across payments and collections, cash and liquidity management, trade finance, supply chain finance, commercial card, receivables finance, and related treasury capabilities. The division serves corporate clients across the Americas and works closely with Coverage, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Mizuho’s global network.

Summary

The Vice President, GSC Coverage role supports coverage for U.S. subsidiaries of large multinational companies outside the primary scope of the Banking Americas and Japanese Banking Americas coverage teams, including subsidiaries of European, Latin American, Middle Eastern, African, and other Asian parent companies. Reporting to James Masters, the role originates and grows transaction banking relationships while building trusted local relationships that can support broader banking opportunities. The position coordinates with Relationship Managers, Sales, Product, overseas offices, and internal partners to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and expand Mizuho’s relevance with subsidiary clients.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Coverage Strategy and Client Management: Support the Global Subsidiary Coverage effort by maintaining target-client segmentation, calling discipline, account plans, pipeline routines, and performance tracking.

• Transaction Banking Origination: Originate and grow opportunities across cash management, liquidity, deposits, trade finance, supply chain finance, receivables, commercial card, foreign exchange, and related treasury solutions.
• Relationship Development: Build trusted relationships with U.S. subsidiary treasury, finance, procurement, operations, and shared-service leaders and identify broader banking opportunities relevant to client needs.
• Global Network Partnership: Coordinate with Mizuho teams across regions to connect U.S. subsidiary activity with parent-company priorities and support consistent cross-border coverage.
• Opportunity Execution: Support client meetings, treasury reviews, proposals, RFPs, product presentations, approvals, implementation handoffs, and follow-up with Product, Coverage, and overseas relationship teams.
• Governance and Administration: Maintain complete and timely call reports, pipeline updates, client files, approvals, and management reporting, and follow applicable legal, regulatory, policy, and control requirements.
• Collaboration and Team Contribution: Collaborate effectively across Sales, Product, Coverage, overseas offices, and internal stakeholders while contributing to a disciplined and coordinated coverage model.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Professional Experience: Eight or more years of experience in transaction banking, cash management, trade finance, corporate banking, subsidiary coverage, relationship management, or cross-border business development.
• Product Knowledge: Broad knowledge of cash management, liquidity, deposits, trade finance, supply chain finance, receivables, foreign exchange, and working-capital solutions.
• Commercial Skills: Demonstrated ability to originate opportunities, build relationships with U.S. subsidiaries of multinational companies, manage a pipeline, and identify broader banking opportunities.
• Leadership and Communication: Strong client relationship, stakeholder-management, negotiation, presentation, decision-making, and team-leadership skills.
• Technology: Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Language: English required. Japanese or another relevant language is preferred.
• Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience covering U.S. subsidiaries of European, Latin American, Middle Eastern, African, or Asian multinational companies; experience coordinating with overseas parent-company coverage teams; and CTP or a similar treasury certification.

Work Location

In-office presence is an essential function of this role, and this role requires work from the office five days per week. Remote work may be used on an as-needed and ad hoc basis in accordance with applicable Banking policies.

The expected base salary ranges from $110,000 - $175,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
