By shifting from animal-based protein to plant-based protein, we can positively impact four growing global issues: human health, climate change, constraints on natural resources and animal welfare.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an E-Commerce Director to build and lead the operating backbone of our direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. This role is responsible for translating commercial strategy into disciplined, high-quality execution across forecasting, inventory, fulfillment, customer experience, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG), a strong understanding of omnichannel retail, and hands-on expertise building and scaling DTC platforms. This leader will own the end-to-end digital commerce ecosystem—from digital shelf optimization and retail media to CRM, lifecycle marketing, and fulfillment strategy. The mission is to build a dependable DTC operating system that supports profitable growth, strong customer experience, and scalable product launches across frozen and future non-perishable categories.TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES1. Forecasting, Inventory & Supply CoordinationOwn DTC demand planning in partnership with finance, supply chain, and product teamsAlign inventory allocation across launches, ongoing sales, and broader business constraintsMonitor in-stock risk, replenishment timelines, and 3PL inventory positioningBuild tools and processes to improve forecast accuracy and reduce stockouts and excess2. Fulfillment & 3PL ManagementOwn day-to-day relationship with 3PL and key operational partnersManage fulfillment performance across order processing, shipping, delivery timing, damages, and returnsDefine and continuously improve SOPs for frozen fulfillment, packaging, inserts, and issue resolutionMonitor and optimize shipping and fulfillment costsEnsure operational readiness for product launches, promotions, and demand spikes3. Customer Experience OperationsPartner with customer service teams to identify and resolve recurring issuesTrack support ticket trends, refund/replacement drivers, and customer feedback signalsTranslate customer pain points into operational improvements across packaging, shipping, product pages, FAQs, and communicationsEnsure the end-to-end customer experience aligns with the brand promise4. Analytics & ReportingOwn daily and weekly operational reporting across orders, fulfillment, inventory, customer issues, and margin driversBuild dashboards and scorecards for leadership visibility and decision-makingAnalyze order-level economics including shipping, packaging, discounts, fees, and refundsLead root-cause analysis and corrective action planning when performance falls short5. Process & Program ManagementServe as the connective tissue across marketing, finance, supply chain, product, legal, and external partnersLead weekly operating meetings, launch readiness reviews, and action trackingImprove workflows, decision-making frameworks, and accountability across teamsSupport implementation and optimization of key tools (Shopify, Klaviyo, CX platforms, subscriptions, analytics stack)Supervisory Duties (if applicable): NoneQUALIFICATIONS-Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:Bachelor’s degree in a related field required7+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, DTC operations, supply chain, or business operationsExperience managing 3PLs and end-to-end fulfillment operationsStrong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets, reporting, and operational metricsExperience in Shopify or similar DTC platforms preferredBackground in food, beverage, CPG, or temperature-sensitive fulfillment strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to build structure and drive execution in fast-paced, ambiguous environmentsDemonstrated ability to influence through storytelling, communications, and stakeholder engagementStrong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills in a fast-paced environmentHigh emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to purpose-driven workStrong strategic thinking skillsetExperience in relationship building & stakeholder influenceStrong verbal and written communicationsData-driven decision makingWORK ENVIRONMENTIn office, five days a week, at headquarters in El Segundo, CAKEY OUTCOMES (First 6-12 Months)Establish a consistent weekly operating cadence across inventory, fulfillment, customer experience, and reportingImprove forecast accuracy and alignment across launches, promotions, and supply constraintsStrengthen 3PL management, SOPs, and cost controlReduce order defects, shipment issues, refunds, and customer complaintsBuild clear, actionable reporting on business performance and operational driversImprove contribution margin through operational discipline and optimizationDevelop scalable processes for launches, bundles, and new product categories**Annual salary commensurate with experience**The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $170,000 and $190,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
