Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Ultrasound Technologist with at least 2 years of general and vascular sonography experience for a hospital-based general ultrasound role.

Job Details

• Hospital-based general ultrasound department serving adult patients across the emergency department, ICU, obstetrics, and portable exam settings,
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• Call coverage required 2 days per week and every other weekend, with a 30-minute response time,
• Performs a broad range of exams including OB/GYN (1st-3rd trimester), abdominal, vascular, small parts, renal/pelvic, and transplant studies,
• Utilizes PACS, Philips, and Siemens ultrasound equipment,
• Assists with ultrasound-guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and biopsy/fine needle aspiration,
• Cerner charting experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer,
• ARDMS and/or ARRT (S) certification required,
• Current BLS certification required,
• License required if applicable,
• Experience with OB/GYN, general abdominal, vascular, and small parts ultrasound exams,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred,
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds,
• Must be able to perform sonography exams for 8+ hours across the department, surgery, ED, and patient floors,
• Must be able to manage critical and highly stressful situations with composure,

Additional Information

• Provide diagnostic imaging services to support patient care and assist radiologists with exams,
• Work in a 24/7 hospital setting requiring participation in an on-call rotation,
• Experienced travelers are preferred, though first-time travelers with relevant outpatient ultrasound experience will be considered,
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted,
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and requires clearance prior to starting patient care
