Job Summary Oceans Healthcare will expand behavioral health services in Jackson. Oceans Healthcare of Jackson, a 77-bed facility will expand inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients and add new services, including an intensive outpatient program. The freestanding hospital will be located on the St. Dominic’s campus. This role conducts inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and has knowledge of TJC, CMS, and other requirements. The Director supports plant operations, safety, and security and oversees nursing, housekeeping, and environmental care projects. They also provide guidance on construction and remodeling projects, present a positive image of the hospital, and coordinate with department leaders to maintain a safe workplace. Essential Functions Responsible for establishing and overseeing the plant operations program, including facility maintenance, life safety, and housekeeping operations. Inspects the facility for proper operation and working conditions and maintains maintenance records. Leads the process of obtaining bids and coordinates repairs or replacements beyond the director’s scope with outside vendors. Oversees the plant operations staff’s day‑to‑day activities, ensuring suitable maintenance, alteration, and repairs in accordance with standard procedures. Serves as a trainer for crisis intervention and de‑escalation training. Conducts audits of facility compliance with life safety standards and prepares findings for corrective action. Collaborates on construction/remodeling projects to meet safety standards and cost‑effectiveness. Works with the Environment of Care Director as hospital safety officers, schedules meetings, and provides recommendations for a safe workplace. Determines causes of problems, formulates solutions, solicits input, and pursues certifications and continuing education. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements / Experience Minimum of 5 years in facilities management, preferably in healthcare. Experience managing or supervising a plant operations department (EVS, security, grounds, biomed, etc.). Knowledge of facility buildings, equipment, and utilities. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in engineering preferred. Qualifications / Skills Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions. Good mathematics, computer, reasoning, and language skills preferred. Must be able to perform heavy work or lifting and carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects; climb ladders; and use hand tools. Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans‑approved behavioral health de‑escalation program. Work Environment Subject to many interruptions and occasional pressure from multiple calls and inquiries. The position can be high‑paced and stressful; requires coping mentally and physically.
