Assembly Technician

Assembly Technician Packet Digital – Fargo, ND Position Overview Packet Digital is a fast-growing technology company driven by innovation, precision, and collaboration. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will support the manufacturing process by assembling, testing, and inspecting advanced electronic products. You will play a key role in bridging engineering design and production, contributing to high-quality builds and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Solder wires to connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision Weld or crimp batteries to wires or bus bars Research and apply welding techniques for battery components (tabs, cans, bus bars, wires, and circuit boards) Inspect assemblies and materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met Assemble and test final products to ensure proper functionality Build and assemble wire harnesses Support prototype builds and provide feedback to the engineering team for design improvements Assist with 3D printing operations, including setup and post-processing Build, maintain, and improve production test and assembly fixtures Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment Participate in design reviews and DFMEA activities as needed Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Associate's degree in electronics (required) Minimum of 2 years of related hands‑on experience Strong soldering, micro‑welding, and inspection skills Experience working with electronic components, tools, and assembly practices Proficiency with electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies) Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and test plans Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and quality‑focused Strong problem‑solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications: IPC soldering certification Manufacturing or production environment experience Welding or battery assembly experience Experience with incoming inspection processes Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position based at our main office.
