Shipping & Receiving Associate

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate in partnership with a prominent client in Endicott, NY within the machining industry. This role will be responsible for some off-site deliveries as well; a clean driving record is required.

Summary :
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 7am to 3:30pm


Shipping/ Receiving Responsibilities:

• Ensure all scheduled deliveries depart and arrive promptly.
• Handle basic administrative duties related to shipping and receiving.
• Provide assistance with delivery and logistics operations as needed.
• Meet daily with the VP of Operations to review delivery schedules and discuss logistics.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team to address delivery challenges.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures related to transport and delivery.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Possess knowledge of local delivery routes and schedules.
• Effectively plan and execute transportation logistics.
• Manage fueling and cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle readiness.
• Report any vehicle damage or maintenance issues.
• Support the VP of Operations in organizing regular vehicle maintenance.
• Foster positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Use two-way radio or cell communication; remain composed in urgent situations.
• Communicate directly with customers via phone and electronic methods.
• Address and resolve customer complaints.
• Gather and assess all relevant information, responding promptly to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions, document details of inquiries, comments, complaints, and actions taken.

Shipping/ Receiving Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Work Flexible hours on occasion.
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Office.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
