Responsibilities Assist with plan checking for encroachment permits; land development grading plans, street plans, water and sewer plans, drainage plans, and drainage studies Review traffic control plans for compliance with applicable standards Coordinate with utilities, contractors, consultants, and municipal departments Support construction management activities, including resolving field issues when needed Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project correspondence Required Skills & Knowledge Understanding of engineering principles related to public works, utilities, and/or land development projects Working knowledge of plan preparation, including mass grading, rough grading, precise grading, storm drain systems, street improvements, and sewer and water plans Familiarity with land development processes, including entitlements, conditions of approval, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water quality management plans (SWQMPs), and final maps Awareness of relevant local, state, and federal regulations applicable to public works and development projects Familiarity with CEQA is preferred Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Experience & Software Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of professional experience preferred Any combination of civil design and/or civil plan check experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Experience using Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat required Exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, ArcView, or ArcInfo is a plus Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred Salary $40.00/hr - $50.00/hr #J-18808-Ljbffr Interwest Consulting Group
