Senior Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This role will oversee project planning, design coordination, procurement, construction activities, commissioning, and handover, ensuring that programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will manage multiple stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and internal teams, while maintaining clear communication and effective project governance throughout the project lifecycle.


Key responsibilities will include developing and monitoring project programmes, budgets, risk registers, procurement strategies, and reporting processes. You will review design information, coordinate technical issues, manage change control, assess progress, and ensure that construction activities comply with approved specifications, statutory requirements, and health and safety legislation. The role will also involve leading project meetings, resolving commercial and operational challenges, managing contractor performance, reviewing valuations and variations, and ensuring that defects, documentation, and final accounts are completed efficiently. You will be expected to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the development of project delivery standards and best practice.


Applicants should have substantial experience managing major construction projects, ideally within a complex commercial, residential, infrastructure, industrial, or mixed-use environment. A relevant degree or professional qualification in construction, engineering, project management, or a related discipline is desirable, together with strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, cost control, programme management, and risk management. You will be a confident leader and communicator with excellent negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and provide accurate, timely reporting is essential. Professional accreditation or membership of a recognised construction or project management body would be advantageous.
