Pediatric Dietitian

We are seeking a Pediatric Dietitian to join our team. This position is primarily focused on providing excellent nutrition care to pediatric patients, with responsibilities spanning both inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nutrition and a thorough understanding of complex dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional status and develop appropriate medical nutrition therapy care plans.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and their caregivers.
• Document treatment recommendations in the patient's electronic medical record according to facility policy.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and families to ensure nutrition care plans are implemented and followed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with medical, nursing, and rehabilitation staff.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, ensuring comprehensive support for patients.
• Manage responsibilities for designated inpatients and ambulatory care patients.
• Function as a member of the multidisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients' nutritional care plans.
• Adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Completion of required coursework and Dietetic Internship.
• Successful passing of the CDR exam is required; candidates who pass the exam before January 1, 2024, may be considered with a Bachelor’s degree and completion of necessary coursework and Dietetic Internship.
• Must hold MD Dietitian licensure and registration with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
• At least 2 years of pediatric experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted.

Patient Population

The position involves working with a diverse patient population that includes:

• Patients with complex diagnoses in an inpatient setting.
• Patients requiring total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and those with various GI complications.
• Post-trauma patients who are stable.
• Infants on tube feeds who are transitioning to oral feeding prior to discharge.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring a block schedule of Monday to Friday, with typical shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Specific duties may vary throughout the week, including outpatient clinic responsibilities and participation in group classes related to healthy eating.

Additional Information

• Holidays may be required as scheduled.
• Floating to other locations may be necessary until a specified date.
• Weekends are not required for this position.
