Accounts Receivable Specialist II

Overview City/State: Norfolk, VA. Work Shift: First (Days). Hybrid work schedule. Standard hours Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm (EST). Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist. Status: Full-time, Day Shift. Location: Sentara Patient Accounting/Norfolk, VA. Position Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is accountable for daily operational tasks associated with revenue cycle accounts receivable, follow-up with patients and payers, and resolving upfront edits and denials. Responsibilities include processing monthly write-offs, making charge corrections, and reconciling claim files for the assigned area of responsibility. Responsibilities Follow up on patient and payer requests (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and manage related timelines and resolutions. Prepare appeals and resolve upfront edits and denials. Monitor and process monthly write-offs and charge corrections. Reconcile claim files for the assigned area of responsibility. Minimum Requirements 3+ years of insurance claims or medical billing experience required. Diploma/Certification in medical Insurance Billing and Coding, in lieu of years of experience. Epic experience strongly preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
