Assembler
This role fabricates and assembles a wide variety of assemblies and supporting hardware by applying established assembly techniques and using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and related equipment. The assembler reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine the proper method and sequence of operations, as well as dimensional and finish specifications, while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting high standards of quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and calibrate production parts in accordance with documented procedures and quality standards.
- Locate and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, ATPs, specifications, and work instructions to determine requirements and sequence of operations.
- Fabricate, build, and support a variety of mechanical assemblies, including packboard and large assemblies, using hand and power tools.
- Perform hand drilling and riveting operations, including squeeze riveting, and measure buckhead rivets after successful completion to ensure accuracy.
- Fill out all required production documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, and forms for shipments, ensuring records are accurate and complete.
- Lift and handle materials and test manifolds, including items weighing at least 30 pounds, following safe material-handling practices.
- Mix ingredients, primers, adhesives, and sealants according to specifications, ensuring proper preparation and application for each job.
- Trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts using templates, hand tools, and power tools as required to meet dimensional and finish specifications.
- Inspect all final products to confirm compliance with customer specifications, requirements, and shipping details before release.
- Assure compliance with all customer specifications and requirements, including documentation and shipping instructions.
- Use E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job trackers, to record work, track progress, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Assemble multiple products within a cell or across multiple lines, as demonstrated by the training matrix and cross-training requirements.
- Help the team evaluate trends in labor standards, costs, and process performance to identify and support process improvements.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Complete all required training and remain current with updates to procedures, safety requirements, and job-related competencies.
- Adhere to corporate environmental, health, and safety policies and all department, occupation, and task-specific safety protocols, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties, reporting tasks, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned by leadership.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of manufacturing assembly experience required; 3+ years of experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly, including assembly line work and production of mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, ATPs, specifications, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical and production assembly.
- Ability to perform hand drilling, riveting, and squeeze riveting, including measuring buckhead rivets to verify proper installation.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and assemble complex products accurately.
- Ability to meet deadlines, plan work, and prioritize tasks to support production schedules.
- Basic computer skills, including use of production software and job-related dashboards such as E10 transactions and part/job trackers.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in both team-based and individual settings.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, on-time delivery, and cost targets.
- Experience with continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds manually when required, and to lift at least 30 pounds routinely as part of daily tasks.
- Ability, depending on assignment, to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for extended periods, reposition the body as needed for various tasks, and use a range of tools and work-related supplies.
- Willingness to submit to and satisfactorily complete any pre-employment screening required.
- Willingness to take medical exams required by law, related to the physical work environment, occupation-specific activities, and industrial hygiene requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a regulated industry, particularly aerospace, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with production environments involving packboard and large assembly work.
- Previous experience using E10 or similar enterprise/production systems for tracking parts, jobs, and inventory.
- Demonstrated ability to support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, and shipping forms.
- Ability to mix primers, adhesives, and sealants according to specification and apply them correctly in an assembly environment.
- Comfort working with templates and gauges to trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts to precise tolerances.
- Capability to inspect final products and verify compliance with customer specifications and shipping requirements.
- Flexibility to perform other duties and special assignments as needed in a dynamic production setting.

Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing and production environment that involves mechanical assembly work using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and various machines and equipment. The role requires handling materials and test manifolds, including lifting tasks up to 40 pounds, and may involve standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and repositioning the body for extended periods depending on assignment. The standard schedule for this role is a 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am, with training initially conducted on 1st shift; a shift differential applies for 2nd shift work. The environment emphasizes adherence to corporate environmental, health, and safety policies, including the consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with task-specific safety protocols. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
