As the PROMOTIONS SPECIALIST, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and analysis of promotions. The Promotions Specialist serves as a liaison between Marketing and Operations, translating the creative vision for promotions into actionable implementation within the system’s framework.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the generation and maintenance of the overall promotions plan in concert with the Marketing teams. This includes ongoing planning and communication during bi-weekly meetings. Promotions may include:

• Retail terminal-based offers.
• Retail terminal-based discounts.
• Social media giveaways.
• Second chance scratch ticket promotions.
• Prize offers related to research surveys.
• Coupons.
• Targeted email offers.

Execute promotions in a timely fashion. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Writing official promotion rules in coordination with stakeholders.
• Writing system-based promotion request to enact a promotion in coordination with our company's Operations and stakeholders.
• Monitoring promotion entries.
• Contacting promotion winners.
• Sending out promotion prizes and winner letters.
• Coordinate retail point-of-sale materials in support of promotions by communicating needs and deadlines among Marketing team stakeholders including staff, advertising agency staff, and our Sales Manager.
• Support field marketing events and sales events as needed. This may include such special events to celebrate prize winners, supporting the presence at the State Fair, and retail store grand openings.
• Work with Business Analyst to monitor and analyze characteristics of the market, market trends, etc. Become familiar with market research and customer preferences.
• Support sales teams in the development of new promotional opportunities with new and existing retailers.
• Deliver analysis, plans and suggestions in a clear and actionable format that can be leveraged for insights. This may include informal discussions as well as presentations at quarterly sales and marketing meetings.

Coordination of content upload for point-of sale digital retail displays used for advertising messages, jackpot information and public service announcements:

• Plan new shows and releases as needs arise.
• Coordinate with Operations stakeholders to plan timing for loading, testing and releasing a new show.
• Communicate deadlines and needs with advertising agency to ensure timely delivery of digital assets.
• Determine needs and request promotional materials from in concert with the promotion plan. Manage inventory levels as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years of marketing, advertising, retail merchandising or project management experience.
• Bachelor’s in marketing, advertising, business administration, or related field.
• Equivalent experience managing a retail business, servicing retail sales accounts, or marketing products to retail accounts, which includes advertising, marketing communications, product research, or promotion, may also be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience developing strategies utilizing data insights.
• Strong ability to manage timelines and details of multiple simultaneous projects.
• Proficient in Office 365 products.
• Some in-state travel required – approximately 5%.
