Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification in Hematology and Oncology required
• At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology practice
• Ability to provide inpatient rounding and respond to hematology/oncology consultations
• Ability to participate in weekday, nighttime, and weekend call coverage
• Active, unrestricted medical license and required credentials to practice in Maryland

Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Physician Responsibilities

• Round on hospitalized oncology patients during scheduled weekday hours
• Evaluate and manage inpatient hematology/oncology conditions
• Respond to inpatient consultations and provide timely clinical recommendations
• Provide night, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage according to the posted schedule
• Coordinate care with hospital-based clinicians and other members of the patient care team
• Document assessments, treatment plans, consultations, and follow-up recommendations accurately
