Associate Veterinarian

Introduction Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team in Ruston, Louisiana. This modern, well-equipped facility is focused on providing high-quality general practice services and offers a supportive environment for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Scheduling is flexible, and the role can accommodate full-time, part-time, or relief veterinarians. Full-time doctors typically work three to four days per week, with no weekend shifts mentioned, allowing for strong work-life balance. Role Description and Responsibilities The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing general medical care, performing surgeries and dentistry, and managing a variety of cases in a well-supported clinical environment. The position is open to experienced veterinarians, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply and will benefit from a structured 12-month mentorship program and access to a DVM mentor network. Practice Details This hospital is equipped with advanced technology including ultrasound, echocardiography, digital dental radiography, digital radiography, therapeutic laser, and in-house diagnostics. The practice offers services such as wellness care, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, urgent care, senior pet care, microchipping, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling. Team The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The staff is highly trained and tenured, contributing to a collaborative and mentoring-focused work environment.
