Banquet CookPrincipal responsibility is to prepare and cook selected menu from standard recipes to provide all guests with an exceptional experience for contracted events at The Madison Event Center. The Madison Event Center is an industry-leading event space for weddings, corporate events, and similar occasions. Over two decades we have successfully hosted thousands of events. Our events are planned with our Details Specialists and executed by our Operations Managers and banquet team. Menu selections and event details are final at least 10 days prior to the event allowing for flawless execution and an exceptional experience for our guests.DutiesDaily preparation and proper management of foodDaily cleaning, sanitation, organization, and storage of all kitchen equipment and utensilsReceiving new stock with proper rotation of all old stockFood preparation list developmentExecuting and delivering all food to proper outlets in a timely fashionMaintaining dish area in a sanitary fashion including washing, sanitizing, putting dishes away, sweeping, and moppingWork with all team members on daily tasksAll other duties assignedScheduleScheduled hours will vary, a minimum of 32 hours each weekQualificationsBasic kitchen knowledge, ability to read and follow recipesKnife skills, sanitation, and proper kitchen etiquetteA positive and upbeat attitude and work well with all team membersMust be 18 years of agePreferred Serv-Safe CertifiedMust be able to work unsupervisedMust be able to work weekendsPunctualExcellent oral communication and listening skillsAbility to follow directions and remain organizedBe willing to work until the job is complete and perform other duties assignedBe able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods of timeBe able to reach, bend, and safely lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds with assistanceUniform RequirementsBlack non-slip shoes with black socksClean black pantsClean short sleeve shirtAdditional details outlined in Uniform Policy
