BIM Technician

Elara Engineering is seeking a BIM Technician to join our growing Digital Design Team and support modeling and documentation for projects of all types across the firm.

This position will work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology (MEPFPIT) systems for projects in all of Elara's Engineering Design Studios, including Commercial & Multi-Family, Higher Education, K-12 & Municipal, and Life Sciences & Healthcare. Day-to-day responsibilities consist of systems modeling, project and model setup, creating and modifying Revit families, maintaining linked architectural and structural background models, and troubleshooting where necessary for the projects you support. This position will also support the development of BIM standards and procedures used across the firm, which allows for opportunities to improve processes and tools.

Looking For

• Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, or similar modeling and drafting software. Experience gained through coursework, internships, or on-the-job is applicable.
• Interest in finding faster and cleaner ways to produce 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers across all disciplines and a willingness to ask questions early and often.
• Experience following written standards and procedures while demonstrating initiative and sound judgment when identifying opportunities for improvement.
• A desire to learn new disciplines, software, and skill sets.

Preferred

• Revit family creation or editing experience.
• Python, Dynamo, or any script/code experience.
• Navisworks or other coordination tools.
