Job Description Join Dr. Tyler M. Pierson and their research group as a Research Lab Assistant I in the Cedars‑Sinai Regenerative Medicine Institute. The Pierson Laboratory is committed to understanding the pathological mechanisms involved in rare and undiagnosed pediatric neurogenetic disorders. The research goal is to extend diagnostic elements by using patient‑derived induced pluripotent stem cells to understand disease mechanisms and to explore stem‑cell‑based therapies for delivery of therapeutic drugs, small molecules, and proteins. The laboratory also confirms neurogenetic diagnoses in known, but rare, disorders and develops research to link rare presentations with new genes and causes. The incumbent performs lab cleaning and maintenance duties, including washing and sterilizing glassware, operating autoclaves and other specialized equipment, using special detergents or other cleaning agents, and assists in ordering and maintaining cleaning supplies inventory. The role may also involve participation in research studies and performing basic lab techniques under the guidance of the PI. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform sterilization of glassware. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment records. Assist with feeding and maintenance of lab vivarium activities. Perform basic administrative duties in the laboratory or in accordance with research projects. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED. No experience required. Ability to understand and perform a variety of routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to support one or more research labs. Ability to use specialized equipment and materials.
