Accounting Manager

A mission-driven organization in the Brighton area is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help support the continued growth of the organization. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing all accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and general ledger activity Managing month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Assisting with annual budgeting and project budget preparation Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations Supporting grant-funded program accounting, expense tracking, and audit reporting Coordinating annual audits and partnering with external auditors Supervising AP/AR staff and supporting operational/process improvements Ideal candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within nonprofit or grant-funded environments Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct experience is a plus) Exposure to Uniform Guidance and Single Audit/SEFA preparation preferred Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Compensation ranges from $80K–$95K DOE plus comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement plan, PTO, and a hybrid work schedule. #J-18808-Ljbffr
