Billing Collections Associate

Chattanooga, TN 37421 View phone number on us.edajobs.com Full Time Billing/Collections Associate This person acts as a liaison between the facility and customers to maintain the integrity of the facility collections in a professional, accurate and confidential manner. Responsible to: Director of Accounts Receivable Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or some college preferred.
• Detail oriented and able to perform tasks with little supervision.
• Professional and reliable within an office setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of office equipment i.e. computer, fax, etc.
• Long Term Care billing experience preferred but not required.
• Be able to work accurately with pressures and interruptions while at the same time being well organized, persistent, and working as a team player to meet deadlines.
• Possess good communication and clinical skills while paying attention to details.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit for 6-8 hours per day.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and hear/comprehend to communicate adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to move throughout the facility with assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bill accurately and timely to all parties for the services rendered.
• Assist the Director of Accounts Receivable and Administrator in collection of accounts receivable. (This requires understanding of reimbursement procedures including state and Federal contract, i.e. Medicaid, Medicare, VA, private insurance, etc.)
• Maintain files and documentation on the status of all outstanding accounts receivable.
• Safeguard all cash transactions.
• Deposit receipts intact each day after reconciling to the original documentation.
• Set up patient liability payments for residents who we maintain their funds on a timely basis.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Schedule:

• 40 +/- per week
• Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
