Role Overview
We are seeking a Test Lead to drive end-to-end Quality Engineering for E-commerce and Digital platforms. This role will lead QA strategy execution and governance across web mobile and backend services operating in a distributed onsite offshore model. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership hands-on automation experience and the ability to align QE outcomes with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QE efforts across E-commerce (web/mobile) and digital platforms ensuring high-quality releases
- Own test strategy planning execution and reporting across multiple PODs/scrum teams
- Drive onsite offshore coordination ensuring seamless communication prioritization and delivery
- Establish and enforce automation-first approach (UI API and regression suites)
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and Business teams for requirement clarity and test coverage
- Define and track QE metrics (defect leakage automation coverage cycle time release quality)
- Ensure CI/CD integration of test suites and quality gates
- Lead defect triage RCA and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support UAT production validation and release sign-offs
- Mentor and guide QA team members across onsite and offshore locations
Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years in Quality Engineering with 2 years in Test Lead role
- Strong experience in E-commerce/Digital platforms (high traffic customer-facing systems)
- Hands-on experience in test automation (Selenium Playwright Cypress or similar)
- Strong understanding of API testing (Postman RestAssured etc.)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Proven experience managing onsite offshore delivery models
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitHub Actions etc.)
- Strong knowledge of test management tools (TestRail Jira etc.)
- Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills
Good to Have
- Experience in retail domain (beauty/fashion/e-commerce)
- Exposure to performance testing and observability tools
- Understanding of AI-driven QE or test optimization approaches
- Experience with service virtualization and contract testing
