Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Rapid Decision Unit – ED Location RWJBarnabas Health – Somerset Campus, 110 Rehill Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876 Facility RWJ Somerset Shift & Status Evening, Per Diem Pay Range $46.90 - $63.44 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.) Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department at the Somerset campus. The Rapid Decision Unit, within the Emergency Department, is used to evaluate and treat patients who require further testing/evaluation to determine if they require admission to the hospital. Qualifications Required ASN or Nursing Diploma Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient computer skills At least one year Emergency or Med Surg telemetry experience required Preferred BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire Previous Acute Care Experience Certifications and Licenses Required BLS and ACLS Certification Required Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License Scheduling Requirements Evening, Per Diem Weekends may be required Essential Functions The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and incorporates evidence-based practice principles, maintaining a lifelong learning mentality. The Registered Nurse reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors. The Registered Nurse demonstrates knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
