Assistant Building Attendant Leader (Assistant Custodian Crew Leader) - Night Shift Job Posting Title: Assistant Building Attendant Leader (Assistant Custodian Crew Leader) - Night Shift Hiring Department: Facilities Services Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer Earliest Start Date: Ongoing Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: AUSTIN, TX Purpose: To assist in the supervision of a specific group of Building Attendant II in their performance of custodial maintenance tasks in university facilities according to a specific schedule and/or Team Cleaning procedures. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning tasks according to established procedures using prescribed equipment. Maintain work schedule as assigned and accept work assignments. Work overtime before and after shift, on weekends, holidays, and emergency response. Supervise and coordinate the work of one or more Building Attendant II, inspecting completed work. Inspect completed work to ensure correct and timely completion. Provide employees with instructions and maintain clear two‑way communication. Prepare key logs, security logs, time reports, FAMIS, first reports of injury, inspection reports, supply orders, absence documentation and training records. Meet deadlines, perform complete and error‑free work, and perform other duties as assigned. Notify supervisor and management of concerns, perform coaching and redirection of employees as indicated. Ensure services and event set‑ups are delivered per instructions, schedule, and work order; conduct inspections of buildings; document inspections and corrective actions; respond to customer complaints. Adhere to work rules, professional appearance and uniform policy, and report to work on time. Use PPE and follow safety guidelines; report unsafe conditions and equipment malfunctions; operate custodial equipment safely. Secure buildings and rooms on schedule; follow unlocking, locking, alarm, key control, and access card procedures. Emergency cleaning, repair reporting, event work, backup duties. Qualifications Required One year in building cleaning and custodial work. Experience in using custodial equipment. Preferred High school graduation or GED. More than one year of cleaning and custodial experience and supervision of custodial work. Ability to read and understand work order, instructions, product labels, directions, and other written job materials. Good interpersonal skills. Salary $39,520 plus depending on qualifications. Work Shift 40 hrs; Monday through Friday, 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM. Overtime required with little or no notice.
