Sterile Processing Technician

Your future role at a glance Location: Newburgh, IN Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Orthopedic Hospital Department/Specialty: Sterile Processing Schedule: Part Time | 10am-6:30pm or 11am-7:30pm | Shifts and hours may vary How you'll make an impact in this role Ensure Surgical Precision: Inspect, assemble, and evaluate complex surgical instruments and sets to guarantee 100% completeness and readiness, directly impacting seamless operating room performance and patient safety. Master Decontamination & Sterilization: Expertly process soiled instruments and operate advanced sterilization equipment according to strict protocols and IFUs, maintaining the highest standards of infection control. Maintain Accurate Set Standards: Utilize digital tracking systems and count sheets to meticulously organize instrument sets, ensuring surgeons have the exact tools they need for every procedure. Optimize Inventory & Case Preparation: Proactively manage and replenish inventory levels to build complete, timely case carts that keep surgical schedules running without delay. Drive Quality Assurance: Conduct regular peer quality audits to foster a culture of continuous improvement, shared accountability, and clinical excellence across the central sterile team. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing AssociationPreferred. Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Preferred. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
