Medical Laboratory Tech - Detroit, Michigan

Seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to support clinical testing operations in a fast-paced laboratory setting. This 13-week contract role is ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in medical laboratory technology, committed to accuracy and efficiency in diagnostic processes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests on blood and other body fluids under supervision according to established protocols
• Utilize manual techniques and advanced laboratory instruments to ensure precise test results
• Operate and maintain Beckman Coulter equipment, preferably with AU system knowledge
• Handle specimen processing, including phlebotomy as required
• Document and enter data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS)
• Support workflow automation processes, enhancing operational efficiency
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards

Qualifications:

• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science
• Certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency such as ASCP or NCA
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar laboratory role
• Proficiency with Beckman Coulter equipment; AU system experience preferred
• Experience with Sunquest LIS and laboratory automation is advantageous
