Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on thorough patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Perform triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation in compliance with established guidelines, utilizing evidence-based practices in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial and spiritual support needs.
• Identify barriers to effective communication and provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately to ancillary personnel; may precept student nurses and new hires.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Current STABLE and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Two (2) or more years of hospital nursing experience.
• One (1) or more years of Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
