CNC Machinist for Prototype Work

We are seeking a skilled CNC machinist to support tooling, prototypes, and short production runs. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys complex work, tight tolerances, and machining a variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, steel, non-ferrous and non-traditional materials, and carbon fiber. You will work closely with engineers and composite technicians to produce molds, tooling, prototypes, and parts while maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Skills:

• Proven experience with CNC programming and operation.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and Master CAM.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately.
• Basic math skills for machining calculations.
• Safe operation of manufacturing machinery.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the CNC industry.
• Strong work ethic, communication skills, and multitasking ability.
• Ability to follow all safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines to produce molds, tooling, prototypes, and parts.
• Collaborate with engineers and composite technicians to ensure high quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T principles.
• Program CNC machines using CAD and CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, and Master CAM.
• Maintain precision in machining various materials including plastics, aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, tooling setups, etc.

Job Type & Location: This is a contract to hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
