Job Description:SummaryThe position works independently to managing all activities of the Neuroscience graduate program and the NIH graduate program which is an interdepartmental program involving multiple departments at Brown University and NIH. Provides administrative, organizational and financial management for both Neuro grad programs and the directors. Serves as primary point of contact for external and internal program constituencies which include students, faculty, alumni, visitors and NIH members. The incumbent works directly with the Neuroscience Education Manager, NSGPP and the NIHGPP program directors as well as the Graduate and postdoc office in the division to implement curricular directives and mandates to meet program goals.The Graduate Program Coordinator will also provide financial management for the 2 graduate programs and maintain graduate student appointments in GSIM. They will serve as a contact and liaison for graduate students, provide information and referrals to students as they pertain to financial support, information, housing, transportation, insurance, etc. The graduate Program Coordinator counsels students, faculty members, and other administrative staff in areas such as: recruitment, academic requirements, degree requirements, completion rates and administrative resources. This position develops and maintains key relationships with various University partners. works in conjunction with the program committees and DGS to support student led events, student social events and maintain alumni network.
