Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Technician Job Description This role serves as a Maintenance Technician II within an operations maintenance team, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support the upkeep of material handling and pneumatic systems throughout a large, high-speed, automated facility, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including automated conveyor systems and related components. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance routines on material handling equipment, robotic systems, and pneumatic systems, and accurately complete all associated documentation and procedures. Conduct battery changes and perform preventative maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure reliable equipment operation. Record equipment downtime data in daily logs and complete preventive maintenance sheets with clear, accurate information. Manage and close work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring all tasks, parts, and labor are properly documented. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities. Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components, to support timely maintenance and repairs. Follow and demonstrate established safety standards while working on material handling equipment and automated systems. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance practices, and overall system performance. Operate and maintain robotic equipment and controls as part of the broader automated material handling and distribution systems. Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to minimize downtime and ensure consistent, reliable facility operations. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or automated systems. 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls. 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. 2+ years of knowledge and practical application of electrical and electronic principles in an industrial environment. 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards while performing maintenance and repair work. 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment systems. 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications. Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Experience working with automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment. Ability to complete preventative maintenance tasks accurately and consistently on conveyors, pneumatics, and motors using schematics and technical documentation. High school diploma or equivalent education. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment, including diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and work order creation. Background working with conveyors and other material handling equipment, including controls and robotics. Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations systems. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage and document maintenance activities. Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and enhance maintenance practices and technical skills. Experience working with material handling equipment safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements and safety regulations. Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields. 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent hands‑on experience in mechanical or electrical fields. 2+ years of experience working with PLC‑based control systems. Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an industrial or automated environment. Why Work Here? The role is physically active and requires comfort with walking significant distances, such as approximately 10,000 steps per day, and safely lifting loads up to 49 pounds at a time. The operation runs on 10‑hour shifts, and all candidates must be open to working any shift as needed to support the facility’s schedule and business demands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50‑$32.50/hr.
