Job Title: Manufacturing Associate (1st or 3rd shift) ($20.00-21.00/hr.)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Packaging Specialist to join our team. You will work in a dynamic steel manufacturing environment where you will be responsible for packaging steel plates according to customer specifications. This is a full-time position on the 1st or 3rd shift, offering competitive hourly rates and paid breaks. We are looking for individuals to interview and start as soon as possible. 1st Shift: 6am-2pm Monday through Friday

3rd Shift: 8pm-6am Monday through Thursday, will train on 10am-6pm shift Monday through Friday starting out for 2-3 weeks*

Responsibilities

• Work in an industrial environment, primarily standing throughout the shift.
• Package steel by banding large plates to meet customer specifications.
• Learn and apply customer requirements for each order, including the use of skidded wood runners, bands, and waterproof paper.
• Collaborate with another packager to manage daily packaging of 50 to 100 bundles.
• Handle steel plates and sheets weighing between 2,000 to 5,000 lbs per bundle.
• Use plastic banding for 99% of packaging tasks.
• Read and follow work instructions, collaborating with the team lead.
• Operate a stacker machine, load coils, and make skids.
• Utilize hand tools, nail gun, stapler, overhead crane, and tow motor.

Essential Skills

• Experience in packaging, general labor, and general production.
• Proficiency in banding and crane operation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manufacturing experience, specifically in steel manufacturing.
• Forklift operation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using hand tools.
• Experience working in steel manufacturing is a plus.
• Overhead crane experience is advantageous.
• Steel packaging experience is beneficial.
• Forklift experience is desirable.

Work Environment

Work in a steel manufacturing environment that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility features large garage doors that open for semi-trucks to load and unload products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Streetsboro, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
