Assistant Nurse Manager - Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Seaside Hospital Position Note: Full‑time day shift. Overview The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) reports to the unit director/manager and utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift. The ANM supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services, provides managerial presence for all shifts, and manages both clinical and non‑clinical caregivers. The ANM ensures compliance with professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies while mentoring staff to deliver high‑quality patient care. Responsibilities Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services. Provide managerial presence during all shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidays. Manage clinical and non‑clinical caregivers, including shift scheduling, workload distribution, and performance evaluation. Monitor and enforce compliance with nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and unit policies. Coach, mentor, and collaborate with staff to deliver high‑quality patient care. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BS or BSN). Registered Nurses employed prior to November 1 2024 may pursue a BSN, but it is not a condition of employment. Oregon registered nurse license issued upon hire. National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Registered Nurse experience in an acute‑care hospital environment. Preferred Qualifications Recent clinical experience in an acute‑care hospital setting. Charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience. Leadership experience. Shared governance experience.
