Base pay range $21.00/hr - $24.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Medix We are seeking experienced Credit Balance Specialists to join our dynamic team. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with a strong background in healthcare credit balance resolution, insurance refunds, and payer research. This role features a hybrid schedule: Remote: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays Onsite (Lewisville, TX): Wednesdays and Thursdays Key Responsibilities: Analyze and resolve credit balances in assigned work queues Coordinate benefits and update missing or outdated insurance coverage Research and respond to internal/external refund inquiries Identify and escalate payer-specific trends Post approved adjustments and resolve unidentified payments Maintain clear, complete, and accurate account notes Participate in payer/provider calls and document meeting minutes Assist in mentoring and training new employees Complete special reports and tasks as assigned by leadership Must-Have Qualifications: 2+ years of recent credit balance experience in healthcare Experience with insurance and patient refunds, adjustments, and payer policies Strong knowledge of primary and secondary insurances High school diploma or equivalent Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Job function Health Care Provider Industries Hospitals and Health Care Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Medix by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance Get notified when a new job is posted.
