Field Sourcing Specialist (Open) – Location: Independence, OH; additional locations include Bartonville, IL; Canton, OH; Clarksville, TN; Cottage Grove, MN; Dayton, OH; Madison, WI; Pevely, MO; Saukville, WI; Wood River, IL. Support supply‑chain activities and contribute to progress targets while fostering a high service level. Advance safety, efficiency, and savings through competitive bidding, proposal analysis, and vendor relationship management. Administer personnel development, reporting, and strategic planning initiatives. Partner with Airgas leaders to align procurement strategies with business goals and optimize purchasing power. Develop long‑range objectives to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and value for internal and external customers. Promote continuous improvement and digital procurement technologies to enhance supply‑chain effectiveness. Lead end‑to‑end sourcing: competitive bidding, proposal analysis, contract negotiations (price/commercial terms), and asset sales. Proactively manage sourcing for major capital projects, maintenance, and plant turnarounds (TAR). Analyze financial and productivity reports to identify cost‑saving opportunities and expense reductions. Develop and maintain performance metrics and balanced scorecards to track Operations Support success. Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Act as the bridge between field operations, category management, and strategic sourcing teams. Plan recruitment, resource allocation, and succession pathways for the Operations Support team. Provide training, skills development, and performance counseling to drive professional growth. Foster a collaborative, purpose‑driven team environment focused on supportive leadership and innovation. Develop regional framework agreements and contribute to the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program. Facilitate spot buys, urgent procurement needs, and local purchasing while nurturing supplier relationships. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in the field of specialization or equivalent. At least 2 years of experience in supply chain management, operations, sales, or purchasing services. Preferred Qualifications Proactive and collaborative approach with ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Supportive leadership and collaborative problem‑solving capabilities. Purpose‑driven, thoughtful, team‑oriented, analytical, and innovative attitude.
