Senior Center Program Coordinator – Bilingual

Location: San Francisco, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift
Work Setting: 100% On-Site
Pay: $30.00–$34.00 per hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and community-focused Senior Center Program Coordinator to support programs and services that help older adults remain active, healthy, connected, and independent.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with seniors, coordinating activities and educational programs, conducting community outreach, and building relationships with community partners.

Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish OR English/Chinese is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day senior center programs, activities, classes, and workshops.
• Assist with participant enrollment, registration, referrals, and program services.
• Manage class and workshop schedules and coordinate program coverage.
• Facilitate educational workshops, wellness activities, and community programs.
• Conduct community outreach and help connect older adults with available resources and services.
• Provide language and translation support for monolingual participants.
• Build positive relationships with seniors, families, community organizations, and program partners.
• Coordinate partner meetings, take detailed notes, track action items, and assist with follow-up.
• Maintain accurate participant records, program documentation, databases, and reports.
• Conduct program assessments, community surveys, and site visits.
• Collect donations and maintain accurate related records and reporting.
• Order and maintain program supplies and inventory.
• Provide administrative support and serve as Staff on Duty when needed.
• Follow organizational policies, program requirements, contract specifications, and regulatory standards.
• Travel to other local service locations within San Francisco as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience .
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish OR English and Chinese required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with older adults from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work fully on-site and travel locally between program locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working directly with older adults or senior populations .
• At least 1 year of community outreach experience .
• Experience coordinating community programs, workshops, classes, wellness programs, or social services.
• Experience working in a senior center, nonprofit, healthcare, community health, or social-service environment.
• Diabetes Educator or Health Educator certification is a plus.
