Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined ICU/PCU unit; ICU nurses may be assigned to PCU-level patients when ICU census is low — candidates should expect that a significant portion of the contract may involve PCU-level care
• Manage a diverse ICU patient population including sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, GI bleeds, stable neuro (CVA/TBI), CVICU (pacemakers, post-cath, angiograms), and surgical patients; perform manual proning of intubated and paralyzed patients and manage multiple drips
• Perform invasive line management including CVP and arterial lines, IV medication titration, and cardiac rhythm interpretation; demonstrate working knowledge of ventilators, trachs, high-flow oxygen, and BiPAP (RT manages devices, but RN knowledge is expected)
• Complete central line blood draws independently; assist with peripheral draws as needed when phlebotomy is unavailable
• Float in turn with staff to other departments including MedSurg (ratios 1:5–6); assignment to PCU is not considered floating
• Complete a Traveler Telemetry Competency exam prior to start date; exam must be passed before beginning the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers are generally not accepted; exceptions may be considered based on experience level
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must successfully complete and pass the Traveler Telemetry Competency prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with EPIC EMR strongly preferred
• Strong peripheral IV insertion skills preferred
• Experience with temporary pacemakers and post-cath care (TR bands, radial and femoral access)
• Comfort with balloon pump management and hypothermia protocol is a plus, though not required
