Senior Property Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a fast-paced finance team on a short-term contract basis. This role will focus on overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting reporting processes during a critical coverage period.Responsibilities:

• Oversee preparation and accuracy of invoices, coding, and financial data entry
• Maintain and reconcile financial records including AP/AR, cash flow, and general ledger activity
• Prepare financial reports and analysis, including P&L and variance reporting
• Support billing processes, expense reporting, and budget tracking
• Assist with payroll support and vendor-related financial activities as needed
• Provide oversight and guidance to junior accounting staff and coordinators
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support day-to-day accounting operations

Skills

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Experience working with accounting systems or ERP platforms (property management systems a plus)
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles including AP/AR and financial reporting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred:

• Experience in property, real estate, or facilities accounting
• Prior experience leading or mentoring team members
• Familiarity with financial reporting tools and systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
